The Quality Score is a rating for advertising campaigns on the Google Ads platform. This score ranges from 1 to 10 and can be seen within the ad groups for each keyword with which the ad is to be placed. This score is for each keyword.
The Quality Score is usually applied once the campaign has been running for a certain period of time and affects the position where ads are shown on the results pages. The tool needs 3 days to get enough data to add a score.
The higher the quality score, the better the placement of ads and the lower the cost per click. However, the worse the score of your ad groups, the less they will be shown and the more expensive your CPC will be.
The quality score, together with ad extensions and bidding data, determines the ranking of your ads. After the offer, the quality score is the most important factor in the ranking of ads.
GOOGLE ADS’ QUALITY SCORE RATING 🔢
This rating offered by Google is based on three information:
- ✅ The expected click rate: is based on the click history that the ad created and compares it with the competition.
- ✅ Relevance of the ad: indicates the relevance of the ad to users’ searches.
- ✅ The landing page experience: indicates the quality of the experience the user has when visiting the landing page.
Google evaluates each of these factors with an individual quality score for each of them and then calculates the overall quality score per keyword based on the three factors above.
HOW TO INCREASE THE RATING 📈
If you want to improve the quality of your campaigns to make them more profitable, we give you some advice:
For those ad groups that need to improve their quality score the first thing to look at would be whether the target page is adequate or poor and lacks information and quality for users. If so, work on it to reduce the bounce rateThe bounce rate tells us what percentage of the visits that enter our website end up leaving without... More and increase user interactions on it, so that conversions will increase.
Once you know that the target page is optimized correctly, review the segmentation of your ad group. Is your task properly organized? Are the ads shown to the right users?
Once both are optimized, it’s up to you to activate them and test the ads to increase your quality score.
