The term header means either the high top section of a web page which normally holds the brand info and the website tool menu, or you can refer to the HTML part in the template of a web page that has the main info regarding the website.

WHAT CAN YOU LOOK FOR IN IT? 🤔

The header is a fundamental part of the website that is at the top and, as for the footer, is repeated on all the pages that compose it, giving continuity and consistency.
In the header of a website we usually find several very important elements:

  • The main navigation menu with links to sections of the website.
  • The naming, or logo of the brand.
  • A small description (sometimes)
  • The page search engine (sometimes)
  • As we see, the header presents basic information to identify the company or the person behind it and invites us to discover the content of that website. But it’s obvious that those elements may be very different depending on the type of website.

WHAT DOES HEADER CODE MEAN?📟

On a webpage, usually a basic code is put in the top header part so that you can find access to it through every page of the website. Normally, in the header code you can look for stuff like Adwords Code, Analytics Code and Schema Markup, also for other tools useful for data following on a site. Those are hold in the header template so that they can be given back and begin following leads as the website is loading.

You can also have header tags: these ones are useful for HTML to divide text headers on a site page. These are, in practice, the titles and main topics of a site and are convenient for visitors and search engines as they indicate what the topic of the site is.
