A PBN, from Private Blog Network, is a network of blogs that are a priori unrelated but share the same management. It is a group of networks connected by links, which help to position a web page (Money Site), and which is characterised by having good domains oriented towards the Money Site theme due to their quality content. These networks are usually created by buying expired domains that have a certain age and authority and, by keeping approximately the same type of content, they trick the search engine into continuing to give it the same authority before expiry. Domains with these blog networks can be obtained when a blog that already had some authority on the network, does not renew and becomes free (this is called an expired domain), but there is also the possibility of creating a domain from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PBNs are often used for link building and are part of the link building and SEO strategies outlined within Black Hat SEO. Their use is mainly for sending links to new projects, so that their growth is much faster (getting links from other websites is the key to ranking high on Google’s list). This is why these blogs need to be updated regularly, so that Google continues to believe that they are important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The links that will send the user to the new projects are usually done in a progressive way and never direct the user directly to these links, i.e. a link with the defined anchor text (the name of the link) is added to another website that is more important than the link to the new project to which the user is redirected. In this way, Google is prevented from imposing a penalty, and this is what is called link juice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the strategy of redirecting users to a company’s page, the same keyword does not always have to be used for links. Although these links are not as powerful as direct links, they help enormously to direct the user to the desired website.
In addition, the same PBNs can be used in different projects. This network of blogs needs to be created in different countries and servers to appear more natural and to be able to fool Google and avoid penalization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a very common question when creating a PBN. On the one hand, buying new domains implies using a domain that has never been used by anyone, where the analysis is based on the domain name and the content created specifically for them. On the other hand, if one buys domains that have expired in order to exploit their authority, it implies that they have been used before, and therefore one has to take into account that they may be domains of penalized websites that can sink the project, or that are websites with authority and that have keywords within the domain but whose original theme has nothing to do with the new project; there is also the possibility that those domains that have been bought to help realize a project may be penalized and serve no purpose, it would be a waste of the funds available for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
