Introduction to Sharing Your Application
Some applications, like those used for tracking personal items, don’t need to be shared. However, applications designed for multiple users, such as those used by salespeople to submit expenses, must be accessible to the appropriate parties. Zoho Creator makes it easy to share your entire app, specific sections, or even just a single form or view.
How to Share Your Application in Zoho Creator
Making Your Application Public
By default, Zoho Creator apps are private. If you want anyone to access your app or certain parts of it, you need to make it public:
- Activate Public Access: Switch on the “Public” option at the top of the app to make it accessible to everyone.
- Public Access for Specific Parts: If you only want to make a part of the app public, you can set this in the Share tab.
Managing User Permissions
Giving users the ability to edit records from a view makes your application more user-friendly. They can easily update or delete outdated information.
How to Set Permissions
- Go to the Views Tab: Find the view you want to adjust and open the “View Configuration” menu.
- Adjust Permissions: Check or uncheck the boxes for insert, modify, and delete permissions as needed and click “Done.”
Removing User Access
If someone should no longer have access to your application, removing them is straightforward:
- Remove Access: Go to the Share tab, click the “X” next to the person’s name to remove them.
- Confirm the Removal: Zoho will immediately revoke their access to the application.
