Enhancing Productivity with Customizable Pages
Zoho Planner becomes truly valuable when you customize your homepage with various elements like appointments, to-do lists, notes, and attachments. However, providing content is just the initial step. Suppose you want to add more pages—for work, leisure, or monitoring your children’s schedules—or maybe you want to rearrange your priorities. This section will guide you on how to fully utilize Zoho Planner by making pages more discoverable through tagging or sharing.
Creating a New Page
Starting Fresh
Below this button, a text box labeled “Name Your New Page” will appear. Name it and hit the Create button. Zoho will then create and open the page, adding it to the “My Pages” list on the left side of the menu.
Outlining Your Website
Describing Your Pages
Public or shared pages benefit from having clear descriptions. At the top of each page, just below the title, you can add a description so that anyone else viewing the page will understand its purpose.
How to Add a Description
Select the desired page, then click the “Description” tab at the top. After you have completed your description, click “Save Desc”. Zoho places your description just above your to-do list and below the page name at the top of each page. If you wish, include URLs in your description; Zoho will automatically create clickable links that open in a new tab.
Revising an Overview
Editing Descriptions
Above each description, you will find an “Edit Description” link. Edit as needed and then click “Save Desc” to apply your changes. To remove a description, delete all the text from the text box and click “Save Desc”; the description will be removed from the page.
Layout Rearrangement
Organizing Pages
As your “My Pages” list grows, you might want to rearrange their order for easier access. Hover over the “My Pages” bar to see a “Reorder” link, which you can use to change the order of the pages. Drag and drop pages into the desired position and then click “Save Page Order”. Remember, your Home Page will always be the first page on your list and its name can be changed but the page itself cannot be removed.
Managing Tasks Effectively
Utilizing Task Lists
Creating a to-do list was covered earlier. There are several ways to manage the lists you have created and tasks added.
Lists That Expand and Collapse
If your to-do list contains multiple lists with many items, it can be overwhelming. Collapsing lists hides the items and shows only the title. Click the small down arrow next to the list name to collapse it; click again (now pointing right) to expand it and show all items.
Marking Tasks as Complete
To mark an item as complete, simply check it off. Zoho will move it to the “Completed” area of the list and add a green checkmark.
Organizing Items in a List
Items at the bottom of long lists tend to get neglected. Highlight important items by dragging them to the front of the list. To reorder, click “Reorder” at the bottom of the page, drag the item to the desired spot, and then click “Save Order” to commit your changes.
